Services

What we treat, and how

Every treatment starts with an assessment and ends with a plan you can follow at home. Most problems need three to six sessions.

  • Wooden wall bars with resistance bands hanging from them, mats rolled at their foot, in a bright exercise room.

    Sports injuries

Sprains, strains, tendon problems and the niggles that stop you training. We treat the injury and then load it back up, step by step, until it is ready for your sport.

  • A small treatment room with a couch, a low stool and a folded blanket over the end of the couch, lit from one side.

    Back and neck pain

Low back pain, sciatica, stiff necks and headaches that start in the neck. Hands-on treatment where it helps, and movement that keeps it from coming back.

  • A floor exercise room with grey mats, dumbbells on a low rack and a padded bench, daylight from a side window.

    Rehabilitation after surgery

Joint replacements, ligament reconstructions and shoulder repairs. We follow your surgeon's protocol and tell them how you are getting on if you would like us to.

  • A desk set up for a seated posture assessment, with the office chair pulled back, a keyboard and a closed laptop.

    Desk and posture assessments

We look at how you sit and work, at the practice or at your desk, and suggest small changes to the chair, the screen and the hours in between.

  • A stainless tray of dry needling supplies in plain packets, with gloves and a sterile wipe, seen from above.

    Acupuncture and dry needling

Offered alongside treatment for tight muscles and long-standing pain, by Ruth and Claire, both trained with the AACP. Always optional.

  • A treatment couch with clean folded towels beside a tall window, daylight falling across it.

    Treatment room sessions

A quiet half hour of hands-on treatment, massage and mobilisation for when you know what is wrong and just need it eased. For existing patients.

Questions

Before you book

  • Do I need a referral from my GP?

No. You can book directly. If your insurer needs a GP referral, they will tell you when you ask for an authorisation code.

  • What should I wear?

Something you can move in that lets us see the area that hurts: shorts for knees and ankles, a vest top for shoulders and necks. There is a changing room if you are coming from work.

  • How many sessions will I need?

Most people need three to six. We will give you our honest estimate at the end of the first visit, and we would rather you did not need us than keep you coming back.

  • Is there parking?

There are two spaces behind the practice, reached from Back Otley Street. The High Street car park is a four-minute walk, and the bus and train stations ten.

  • What if I need to cancel?

Please give us a day's notice so someone else can have the time. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged in full, unless you are ill.
